The insight to the city lies in its narrators. Those who carry with them memories and mementos of times passed; a physical or emblematic luggage carried intently to the present.   The stories that live here have traveled a distance; through recent times, generations, and geographies. Our neighbors house these compilations of keepsakes.

The artists collective Hier & Jetzt: Connections assembles a community archive on the facade of Museum Lichtenberg; preserving the cultural heritage of people, places and things far and near. The series of interventions uses word and symbol as a vehicle that stimulates a kinship among unique experiences, interests, and positions. Whether denoting the history of the immediate location and its predecessors, generating sensory memory, or creating a work about now that can be added to the archives for later, -these artist’s memoirs offer familiarity. It is homage to the histories that collide and adapt here.
